Prince Andrew stripped of his HRH and royal patronages.
It comes as he faces a civil case in the United States over allegations that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl, which he has consistently denied.
Palace Statement: “With The Queen’s approval and agreement, The Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to The Queen. The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.”
According to a royal source, Prince Andrew will also stop using the style His Royal Highness in an official capacity.

The duke’s responsibilities will be shared by members of the Royal Family.
According to US District Judge Lewis Kaplan, Giuffre, who is now 38, might pursue accusations that Andrew assaulted her and willfully caused her mental anguish while Epstein – a financier who committed suicide in jail in August 2019 just before his sex trafficking trial – was trafficking her.
The prince has disputed Giuffre’s claims that he forced her to have sex more than two decades ago at the home of Epstein’s former partner and colleague Ghislaine Maxwell in London, and that he assaulted her at two Epstein residences.
